A Partial Body Tan includes the legs OR the upper body- i.e. face, neck, chest, upper back, and arms. Email us for more information about this service firstname.lastname@example.org
CAN I GET A SPRAY TAN WHILE BREASTFEEDING?
You can definitely still get a spray tan when you are breastfeeding! We just recommend wearing a strapless bra or something to cover your chest area during the application - even breast pads will do just fine! Although we source the safest solutions, they are not meant to be consumed like food and we do not want any of the tan to get on or in your baby. We highly recommend getting a rapid solution and please consult with your physician before booking your appointment.
I AM UNDER 18, CAN I STILL SPRAY TAN?
Yes! Our products are safe for all ages! However, if you are under 18 you will need to have your parent/guardian present and sign our release form before we can start your bronzing sesh. Email email@example.com
WHY IS SPRAY TANNING SAFE?
The active ingredient DHA is made from sugar cane and beets. This reacts with the amino acids in your skin cells similar to the browning of an apple when its cut. Spray tanning is safe for topical use but is not to be inhaled. We will always have nose plugs available to clients for their protection at both mobile and salon appointments. Our salon is also equipped with industrial level air filtration systems.
Spray tanning is endorsed by: The Skin Cancer Organization, The American Cancer Society, The American Medical Association, and The American Academy of Dermatology. The FDA has tested and approved DHA for use on the skin.
WHY DO I NEED TO SIGN A WAIVER?
A liability waiver is a legal document that a person who participates in an activity may sign to acknowledge the risks involved in their participation. By doing so, the company attempts to remove legal liability from the business or person responsible for the activity.
Upon entry to the salon you will be asked to sign a waiver for services and covid-19.
For mobile appts, you will be sent an email file after booking to be completed and signed before arrival.
PRE-TAN PREP FAQ
SHOULD I GET MY MANI/PEDI BEFORE OR AFTER MY SPRAY TAN?
It is definitely best to get your your mani/pedi before the spray tan. Just make sure you are able to remove all of the lotion/oils that your nail tech applies on your skin before you come in for your spray tan. If you absolutely must get your nails done after your spray tan, you need to wait until after your first shower. In this event, you should also avoid the massage portion of the service since their products may degrade your spray tan results.
WHAT DO I WEAR/BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
Totally up to you! We just ask that you undress to your comfort level, so you decide what’s coming off and what’s not! Any clothing you choose to wear during the session (undergarments/bathing suit) can simply be laundered once in a normal cycle to remove the solution. We do ask that all males bring something to cover their private parts – thongs are acceptable, but no socks please (funny, we know, but a few have asked so we had to mention it haha). After the application, all clients should wear loose clothing, black is best, and flip-flop type footwear. Just to get this out of the way- so sorry but yes, your yoga pants are probably too tight. PLEASE NOTE: If it is raining when you come in for your appointment, you should wear a full shoe and don’t forget your umbrella! Any water that comes in contact with your skin while your tan is setting will remove the tan!
HOW DO I PREPARE MY SKIN FOR A TAN?
The day before - Shave and take care of any other hair removal at least 24 hours before your appointment. Shower and exfoliate to remove all dry, dead skin. For best results, use an OIL FREE exfoliating product or dry loofah/brush. If you have super dry skin, make sure to moisturize with a water based moisturizer.
The day of- For best results, shower and exfoliate lightly with your towel or exfoliating mitt to remove any additional dry, dead skin. Remove all other self-tanners, make-up, perfume, deodorant and oils using an OIL FREE SOAP. Again, if you have very very dry skin you may moisturize the day of your appointment, but ONLY with a water based moisturizer.
HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT TO TAN AFTER GETTING INJECTABLES/ LASER TREATMENT?
This depends on the area you are getting treatment. We recommend at least a week for large areas or the face. Please consult with your laser technician for more information.
POST-TAN CARE FAQ
WILL I TURN ORANGE?
Spray tanning is a delicate chemical process. If you do not follow our pre/post care instructions you might turn colors. Please do not leave your solution on beyond the recommended time, be sure to follow good prep and exfoliate off old tan, try not to touch yourself to avoid transfer and sleep in long pants/ sleeves and wears socks on your hands and feet. I hope someone out there is fancy and as silk gloves!
WHAT DO I NEED TO AVOID WHILE MY SPRAY TAN IS SETTING?
If you plan to allow your tan to develop overnight then we suggest wearing a long sleeve top, long pants, gloves (if you want to be EXTRAA!) and socks to bed, in order to avoid skin to skin contact. Any skin to skin contact will create tan transfer or friction on the skin, which creates sweat, which will not allow your tan to set- this also means no skin to skin contact with anyone else either you freak nasty!
We recommend designating a bedding set just for tanning. We can not guarantee there will be absolutely no transfer.
HOW LONG DOES A SPRAY TAN LAST? + POST PRODUCTS & ROUTINES
Your custom results will provide gorgeous, glowing results for 5-7 days (potentially longer due to our hydrating ingredients!) as long as your skin stays moisturized and products with harsh chemicals, exfoliants and bleaching ingredients are avoided.
When you have a spray tan you should avoid bar soaps, exfoliants and products not designed for use with a spray tan. For best results when showering, use a liquid body wash. You should always use a 'sunless safe' moisturizer post-shower to keep skin hydrated like our whipped shea butter moisturizer
It is best to take care of any hair removal at least a few hours before your spray tan appointment. However, we do understand that sometimes shaving post application cannot be avoided - in this case, be sure to wait at least 24 hours after your tan was applied and be gentle - shaving is a form of mild exfoliation so we want you to be careful that you do not remove the tan.
HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY SPRAY TAN ON VACATION?
We highly recommend setting an appointment 24-48 hours before you're vacation bound! Unfortunately sweating, salt water and/or the high levels of chlorine used in resort pools will cause your spray tan results to fade very quickly :( So here's our advice: Grab some self-tanning moisturizer or tan extender product to take with you in your checked bag and don't forget your sunscreen! Spray tan solutions do not have sunscreen in them! You'll thank us later!
